The Lovely One Project

A New Chapter For Meili Swim

The Lovely One Project

Meili — Norse for “the lovely one.”

Meili Swim has always been about more than swimwear — it's been a way to make a real difference in the world. Starting with Terra Viva, and continuing with every collection after, a portion of every purchase goes toward hands-on mission trips — trips I'll lead myself — bringing help directly to the women, children, and places that need it most.

Because Meili Swim isn't just here to make beautiful, unforgettable swimwear.
It's here to make a real difference — for the earth, and for the people on it.

Why I'm doing this

I grew up a competitive dancer. It was my whole world — the thing I cared about most, the plan I had for my life. Years of training took a toll on my body, and I eventually needed major surgery to fuse my spine from T2 to my pelvis. Dance was no longer possible after that, and for the first time, I didn't have the outlet I'd always turned to, especially on the hard days.

I had to find something new. Living in Hawaii, surrounded by the ocean, and always drawn to fashion, swimwear became that new creative outlet — but Hawaii gave me something else, too: a deep love and respect for this earth, and a real sense of responsibility to protect it. So I brought the two together, designing swimwear meant to help the world instead of hurt it, without giving up on fashion.

That became my new passion. But something was still missing. I've always felt most alive when I'm helping people directly — getting my hands dirty, showing up for someone, and knowing I've left them a little stronger and a little happier than I found them. Add in a lifelong love of travel and a pull toward other cultures, and this program is where it all finally came together: a way to give back directly through the business I've built.

Meili is here to do more than add another label to an industry that already has so much talent in it. My goal is to build something that grows well beyond me — full group mission trips others can join, hands-on support wherever we go, and one day, an official charity that lets us keep giving back to the places, and the people, we come to know.

How it works

1

You shop Meili Swim — starting with Terra Viva, and every collection after.

2

A portion of every purchase goes directly into The Lovely One Project fund.

3

I take it and go — in person — bringing hands-on help directly to the children, women, and communities who need it most.

Where the help goes

  • Flights and travel to reach the communities and orphanages that need it most
  • Supplies and hands-on support once I'm there — not just a check, but my own two hands

And one day, I hope to bring others along for the journey.

Want to give a little more?

Every Meili Swim purchase already puts something toward The Lovely One Project. If you'd like to add more, you can give directly to the fund below — it goes toward the exact same trips.

Add To The Fund

Good to know: The Lovely One Project is a personal commitment I'm funding through Meili Swim sales, starting with Terra Viva — it isn't a registered charity or nonprofit yet, so purchases aren't tax-deductible donations. Formalizing it into an official charitable partnership is exactly where I hope to take this as it grows.

Questions

Is my purchase tax-deductible?

Not yet — The Lovely One Project isn't a registered nonprofit, so this isn't a tax-deductible donation. It's how I'm personally funding hands-on mission trips through Meili Swim sales.

Where exactly does the money go?

Straight into the trips themselves — flights, supplies, and my time on the ground, in person, with the children and communities we're supporting.

Will this become an official charity someday?

That's the goal as it grows. Right now, it's funded through Meili Swim sales, plus anyone who'd like to add directly to the fund can do so above — it's not a solicited donation, just an optional way to give more if you want to.

How will I know it's really happening?

Transparency matters to me just as much as the mission itself. Every week, I will add to The Lovely One Project fund and update the total right here on this page, so you can see exactly how much has been raised — real numbers, not vague promises. Follow along in real time on Instagram @meiliswim under #TheLovelyOneProject, where I'll be posting regular updates. And once a trip happens, this page becomes its permanent home — full recaps, photos, and videos from the ground, not just numbers.

Let's make a difference, together.

With gratitude,
OliviaFounder & Creative Director, Meili Swim
